A 1.5-day course plus optional exam to earn a 5-year CBMD ADT designation, focusing on radiation safety and QA/QC; the role of the medical physicist in on-site and on-going quality assurance of equipment and technologists; the importance of a well-documented osteoporosis questionnaire and implementing the CAR’s Technical Standards for Bone Mineral Densitometry Reporting 2013; and the importance of accreditation to facilitate BMD scans that are accurate, and support reporting physicians accurately reporting patients’ bone health.
