Should SRS be Considered for Salvage of Intracranial Recurrence in Small Cell Lung Cancer?

Should SRS be Considered for Salvage of Intracranial Recurrence in Small Cell Lung Cancer?

Presenter: Brooklyn Mazure, BSc, MRT(T)

Learning Objectives:
Prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI) remains a standard of care for small cell lung cancer (SCLC) to improve survival and prevent recurrence in limited (LS) and extensive stage (ES) disease. Intracranial recurrence (IR) after PCI affects 12-45%. Limited data exist describing outcomes of salvage brain reirradiation (ReRT). We performed a population-based review of outcomes after intracranial recurrence in SCLC.
