1) Identifying a need for MRT Clinical Educators: A Lower Mainland BC Case Study
Presenter: Kerri Smith, Manager, Clinical Specialty Education, Vancouver Coastal Health/ Lower Mainland Medical Imaging
The Education Portfolio in Lower Mainland BC has just recently launched an MRT/Sonographer Educator Portfolio to support the education and continuing competence of MRTs across the lifespan of their careers. This newly launched portfolio has a number of objectives including identifying gaps in professional development for MRTs, investigating upskilling and optimizing scope of practice, supporting the onboarding of new hires, collaborating with educational institutions and working with the BC Ministry of Health on the BC Allied Health initiative to attract, train, retrain and retain medical imaging staff.
