This presentation aims to briefly describe the history and cultural context of health care in Nunavut. It will discuss the barriers of health care in the north, specifically cancer care and will describe the rationale for bringing cancer care to Nunavut. This presentation will describe the role of the palliative clinical specialist radiation therapist to improve access to care and to expedite care, review achievements of the oncology clinics in the North and to review future work and activities.
