This course is designed to introduce pharmacology as it applies to an imaging technologist in the diagnostic imaging field. Students will be introduced to topics including: common medications, classification of medications, specific system medications and the variety of pharmaceuticals used in the diagnostic imaging field. The focus is on drug classification, administration, metabolism, indications and contraindications for use, as well as adverse effects. The goal of this course is for the student to obtain an understanding of the basic fundamentals of pharmacology.
