Technological advancements in medical imaging have improved imaging, patient care, and have enabled physicians to administer appropriate treatments for patients faster. Technological advancements, however, also had an impact on the technologist’s practice. I will discuss the improvements and limitations in my CT practice as it pertains to the GE REVOLUTIONTM CT scanner. Focus will be placed on changes in practice of basic head scanning, CTA studies, trauma, stroke, and cardiac scanning.
