Full-Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) has quickly emerged as the preferred choice for dedicated breast imaging technology. When compared to conventional analog (film-screen) systems, it can significantly improve image quality and workflow while reducing absorbed dose to the patient and errors that result in repeats.
This Digital Mammography program will provide a detailed overview of FFDM including a brief developmental history, a review of the technology and associated advanced applications, an in-depth discussion of frequently encountered artifacts, the various quality control procedures that accompany this modality and the steps to achieve accreditation by the CAR.
